The  Betway Premiership is the top professional football division in South Africa. Established in 1996, the league features 16 teams competing for the title. It is known for its passionate fan base, competitive matches, and as a platform for developing talented players who often go on to successful careers both domestically and internationally.

As of July 2024 the title sponsor of the competition is Betway. 

The league typically runs from August until May.
